Ethos and Vision
We recognise that the education of your children is a journey shared between you, the parents, and us, the staff of the school.
We each have our part to play.
We welcome your support, value your involvement and are always pleased to see you in school.
Letter from the Headteacher
I am very proud to be Headteacher of this school. A great deal of time and effort is spent in making this a really special place to work, learn and play.
I believe that Moorfield Primary offers all of its children an excellent education that is full of challenge, interest and fun.
In addition, children are encouraged to build their self-confidence, to develop self-reliance , to take risks without fear of failure and to make decisions about their own learning.
We also believe that we can only achieve the best for your child by developing a close relationship between home and school.
There will be many opportunities for you to find out about and to share in the education of your child. I am always readily available to talk to you about any aspect of your child's development.
Our school caters for children between the ages of 4 and 11. This consists of the Early Years Foundation Stage, Key Stage One and Key Stage Two.
Learning is organised into nine classes for children of Reception Age through to Year 6. The children are taught in a variety of styles - whole class, small groups and opportunities for independent learning are also planned for.
About one third of our children in Years 3 to 6 join Moorfield in Year 3, usually from Church Aston Infants School with whom we have an excellent relationship.
At the end of Year Six, most of our children move to either Burton Borough, Adams Grammar or Newport Girls High School with whom we have developed very effective transition arrangements.
